Frequently Asked Questions

Who is our partner Smart Qurban International?

Smart Qurban International (SQI) facilitates the Islamic ritual of Qurban (Udhiyah) and provides humanitarian aid to communities in need. Established in 2016, SQI handles the sourcing, slaughter, and distribution of Qurban meat according to Islamic guidelines, and delivers essential items such as food, hygiene packs, and baby essentials to vulnerable families worldwide. They work with trusted local partners to ensure transparency, efficiency, and accountability.

How do supplies get to Gaza despite the closure of borders?

Our partner’s team and vendors have warehouses in Gaza, staffed by workers who consistently stockpile supplies. We are currently working with these limited supplies, and a small amount of supplies is still trickling in while we await the resumption of normal border movement.

Previously, we relied on transporting our goods through the Kerem Shalom Crossing Point prior to military operations in Rafah. Presently, we have shifted our logistics to utilize the Erez Crossing Point for transporting supplies.

Where will the distribution take place in Gaza?

Distribution will take place in the Middle and Northern regions of Gaza, specifically in Deir al-Balah, located 25 km from Rafah, and Jabaliya, located 40 km from Rafah.

When will my order be fulfilled?

Our partner, Smart Qurban International, is committed to completing the purchase and distribution of all items within 4 to 6 weeks of the campaign’s conclusion. Please note that this timeline may be subject to change based on on-the-ground realities, weather conditions, and operational capacities.

Can we purchase using our zakat monies?

As a for-profit company, we would like to clarify that we do not operate as a Zakat collection center and are not authorized to receive or manage Zakat funds directly. However, we provide distribution services for products and essentials that can be delivered to individuals and families who qualify as asnaf (eligible recipients of Zakat).
